About Our Programs
Cary uses a blend of local and federal funds to support housing initiatives, including new development and capture of existing affordable market properties. In addition to gap financing, we offer technical assistance including support in navigating rezoning and plan review as well as financial support for pre-development feasibility costs. Cary Housing funds are awarded on an annual basis. See here for more information on award cycles and how to apply.
Cary’s commitment to affordable housing is evident through collaborations with organizations like DHIC, Inc., Greenwood Forest Baptist Church, and The Carying Place. These partnerships focus on addressing the critical need for affordable housing while enhancing community services. For example, the redevelopment of the church site at 110 SE Maynard Road will include affordable housing, daycare facilities, office space, and community programming areas, illustrating the comprehensive approach to community development.
