Cary Housing Programs
& CDBG Awards

Each year, Cary invites organizations working in the areas of new housing opportunities, housing development and preservation, housing stability support, and nonprofit capacity building to apply for grant funding. Grant awards are reviewed and approved by Cary Town Council annually in the spring. Applications for the 2026-2027 Award Cycle are closed as of February 13, 2026. Applications will be evaluated and awards made competitively based on alignment with Cary Housing Goals, HUD National Objectives and criteria outlined in the application guide linked below. Award recommendations will be made via the Annual Action Plan – a draft of which will be posted for public comment at the end of March before being considered by Council in April.

How Are We Making an Impact?

Cary supports four key high impact housing initiatives areas to further the goals of the Imagine Cary Community Plan and Cary Housing Plan using a blend of local and federal funds.
